David has been a working member of the production community since 1985. In addition to his work in public television, he has extensive experience as a cameraman and director in commercial television.

David founded New Light Media in 1995 to pursue his dream of making important and engaging documentary films.

William "Bill" Carlson is a multi-award winning director of photography who has been working in the film production community since 1971. Bill's work has taken him virtually around the world. On commercial or documentary assignments, Bill has worked across the United States, in Europe, Mexico, Central and South America, the Far East, Africa, Australia and Russia.

His clients include American Express, Canal Plus, CBS Entertainment, Chase Manhattan Bank, CNN, Coca-Cola USA, Grey Advertising, Martin-Williams Advertising, MTV, National Geographic, NHK, Ovation Marketing, PBS, Proctor & Gamble, TF1, Time-Life, Yamaha Motor Corporation and Xerox Corporation.

Jeff Saunders is one of the most versatile and talented young cinematographers working today. Jeff has worked in 43 of the 50 states. He has also traveled to work in East Africa, Holland, China, Honduras, and Mexico.

His clients include the NBC Nightly News, the Today Show, the Discovery Channel, the Travel Channel, HBO, and CNN.

Clayton is one of the most talented and tireless young film editors working today. He has been involved with post-production for over ten years doing creative off-line, on-line and design and film compositing.

He began his career in 1993 as a staff editor for HDMG Post and Effects in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. In 2001, he built his own facility and founded Splice Here. Splice Here is a creative editorial, design and sound house in the warehouse district in downtown Minneapolis. Clayton's diverse editing experience includes commercial, corporate image, documentary, music videos, and film trailers.

Brian is the foremost composer in the world of documentaries, having scored over 200 films that have won an impressive collection of awards. He has composed the music to more than three dozen Emmy winning films and almost two dozen Peabody winning films. In 2002, Brian became the first composer in the history of the Emmy Awards to receive all the nominations for "Outstanding Musical Score" in a single year. In 2003 he followed up that unprecedented Emmy Award when his score for HBO's 'Picture Perfect" won again for "Outstanding Musical Score." Brian made his name as a musician's musician, capable of writing cutting edge symphonic music for orchestra or trading bebop lines with the biggest names in jazz, while never losing sight of a vision of music as, first and foremost, a medium for expressing emotion and spirituality. In fact, Keane's reputation as a composer is built on his soaring melodies and moving scores. His best known work as a producer is in the ethnic and New Age worlds, where he has produced landmark spiritual and ethnic records with musicians from all over the world.

Ross has been a free-lance videographer, web author, and film-maker for several years. His first feature narrative film premiered at the UNI campus and earned him several awards. His work for New Light Media includes the America's Lost Landscape: The Tallgrass Prairie film web site and New Light Media website, both designed and authored by Ross. He has also worked with David O'Shields on America's Lost Landscape: The Tallgrass Prairie as a production assistant.

Ross Freeman is currently a web consultant at Pioneer Hi-Bred. Ross has worked on several projects for clients including McDonald's, Jessam Communications, Lincoln Savings Bank, Powers Manufacturing, and many others.
